Encounter the stunning beauty of the Kenyan countryside – the diversity of the North,
the great plains in the South and the East coast’s pristine beaches.
Fly direct from Nairobi Wilson Airport straight to the Lewa Downs airstrip where you will embark on your first safari drive through the Laikipia bush en route to Sosian Lodge. Eight secluded cottages with verandas and spacious en-suite bathrooms have their own exclusive views down to the Samangua Valley. After lunch, wind down by the infinity pool and watch the elephants wander down to the lake below.

Wake up early to experience your first game drive exploring the vast bush and searching for wildlife. The Sosian Lodge guides are excellent in finding spots with the best views for you to pause for a drink while warming up in the morning sun. This afternoon, walk from the lodge through the open bush while discovering the diverse flora and fauna. (Optional – Helicopter Ride around Mount Kenya)

This morning, head out with your guide with the 4×4 where you will eventually drop off the vehicle and make your way back to the lodge by foot. Watch from afar as the elephants and buffalo graze and as the game moves around while your guide guides you through the bush. After lunch, enjoy a gentle ride on horseback and experience riding beside the wildlife.

Fly down south to the Maasai Mara where you will land on the nearby airstrip and be greeted by your guide from Richard’s Camp. There are seven spacious tents located in the north west of the Maasai Mara, where wild animals can still roam freely. Once at camp, you will have time to relax and explore before your evening game drive.

Spend the day enjoying the Maasai Mara. Enjoy two game drives while exploring the expanse of one of Africa’s finest wildlife reserves. After a full day out, enjoy sitting around a bush fire at Richard’s Camp, talking to your guide about the day you have just experienced. Optional – Hot Air Balloon ride).

Wake up early and head out for a morning game walk, walking through the herds of antelope and wildebeests and watching the elephants from afar. This afternoon, head out for your last game drive in search of Africa’s five greatest wild animals known as the ‘Big 5’ – the lion, buffalo, leopard, elephant and the rhino.

Today you will leave camp and make your way to Nairobi for a connecting flight to Kenya’s coast. On arrival, you will be whisked off on a speed boat to Manda Bay. Arrive in time for a late lunch and enjoy the display of amazing fresh seafood. The cosy cottages overlook the Indian Ocean and are carefully sited to catch the cooling sea breeze.

Wake up to the sea breeze and enjoy breakfast while looking over an idyllic beach and the calm bay. Comb the beach and swim in the crystal clear Indian Ocean before reclining in your private hammock. (Optional – Deep Sea Fishing)

After a day on the water, enjoy a boat trip into Lamu Town, now a listed World Heritage site, where you can explore the Old Town, the market and the narrow streets. It’s a fantastic way to learn about the Arabic history, the spice trade and the Swahili culture. When back at Manda Bay, head out with your host on a game drive and explore the island’s ruins and the wildlife that lives on Manda Island.

Enjoy your last day on Manda Bay, relaxing by the swimming pool and walking down the private beach that Manda Bay is located on. To round up an amazing five nights, for an optional extra, you could hire the Utamaduni, Manda Bay’s private 62ft Dhow, and head out to explore the Lamu archipelago.

With an afternoon flight back from Manda Bay to Nairobi, it will mean spending one night at Giraffe Manor. Located in the leafy outskirts of Nairobi, Giraffe Manor is an experience in itself with just six opulent bedrooms. Looking over towards the giraffe sanctuary, which is home to eight endangered Rothschild Giraffes, it is the perfect location to spend your your last night in Kenya.
